Keys to a Successful Marriage

I absolutely love this site! My husband and I have been married for 17 years now, and we have always made it a point to put God first in our marriage. Our marriage is so good, and it's thanks to God! I agree with all these keys to a successful marriage. It boils down to knowing and ACCEPTING your God given designed role for each spouse. When each person knows their role, accepts it, and performs it, only a great marriage will result. If anyone reading my comment wants to further understand more details, I recommend the book The Christian Family by Larry Christenson.

I am so proud and happy to be out here sharing this remarkable testimony, awesome and extraordinary, I just can’t believe this, now my ex Husband is really back to me on his knees begging me to take him back and he was feeling regretful and sorry for leaving me and for causing me pains after the BREAKUP which occurred 5 Month ago. And this whole miracle happened after i contacted Dr Stanley for help, I am the happiest woman today in this world. Its a miracle and everlasting pleasure and cheerfulness for me and my family today.. I am so happy now and i dont know how much to convey my thankfulness and appreciation to Dr Stanley, contact him if you need urgent help now because its guaranteed that he will help you. What space does this Key allow for in marriage??

Must I allow my partner to go out with his friends alone sometimes? How do I know what room to allow? Can this be good for a marriage? young people to go have some fun time apart with their friends?
GIVE EACH OTHER ROOM FOR INDIVIDUAL GROWTH

Each partner will have personal likes and dislikes. One may be a sports fan, the other may not. Not all things have to be shared.

Gods blessing start at the head of the household. It is imperative for the man to be that spiritual leader. He is to lead the woman and God is to lead him.

I disagree with the "let the husband be the spiritual leader in the family" part. The husband should be the leader of the household period as that verse in the bible says and this does not necessarily mean the "spiritual head".

Although I agree with most of these words, "let the husband be the spiritual leader in the family" is misguided at best. Spirituality knows no gender and families benefit by the spirituality of both parents equally.

This was very inspiring. I do want to comment on the NIV ...I was shocked when I looked and saw that verse missing, It is also missing in the Message bible. But one that is very accurate to the greek version is the New American Standard Bible.

This is a great page. My husband an i abstained before we got married He was 46 and i 35 when we got married. So many people told me i would have to compromise because of my age to encourage men but thank God i stood my ground. Indeed there is respect and love and the eagerness to please each other in our marriage we are best friends and yesterday was our 1st annoversary.

Very good.. I really love all this, it has suh good information.. i just have one concern: the NIV (and other translations) are not the word of God.. the Bible says in three separate places not to take away or add to the Word of God. The NIV and all other versions change so much to make it say what man wants it to say - it's not what God has said (try looking up Acts 8:37, it's a very important verse but you will not find it in most any new versions) The King James Bible is the only Bible that has not been tampered with by men.

Satan seeks to destroy God's word.. and slowly he is being more and more successful..

I was reading these articles after trying to explain to my daughters the essence of a good marriage and found that your sight was just right. So I have sent them the link with all my love. We have been married for forty five years and hope to see our fiftieth wedding anniversary.

Thank you for sharing this.

I am going to not only apply the wisdom here for my own marriage (24 years strong!). but also will share this with my daughters.

How good it is when we line up our lives, hearts and minds with the Word. There definitely is safety under the shadow of His wings.

I will be married to my high school sweetheart for 15 years on 4/19/09.We acepted Christ in our life 3yrs after we was married and we have 5kids .Puttin the Lord 1St in the marriage ,communication and making time for each others is a must in having a sucessful marriage life.Often times, couples put kids 1st,forgetting their relationship came before all of that. They end up losing out on each other and growing apart.I would like to encourage married couples to go on a date once a week when u can. It keeps your love for each other burning. Have a good time and laugh it is so good for the soul. The devil will be mad, but the two of you will be glad with each other. Remember to always pray for one another, communicate, and set aside some time for each other. Also, be on one accord when it come to the kids. God has put us over our kids. It is both parents duty to raise the kids. To all the husband help your wife with the household chores sometimes. I promise you she will make you the best the wife, try not to nag at your husband so much. I promise you he will make you the best husband. Last point, allow each other space. The women need some her time and the husband need him some time. Ladies like to spend time shopping and the mens like to go fishing and hunting. I thank the lord for you all giving me a chance to tell my story.Dayton if you read this i want you to know that I thank you for loving christ, yourself, and loving me. I love you with all my heart. We are 34 yrs old. We start dating at 16. Married at 19 yr old. Reborn at 21 years old and still save . Thanks be to our lord and saviour Christ Jesus to God be the glory.

Last December 25, my husband and I were married for 36 years. The keys are wonderful. However, for our marriage, hardly any of the "keys" were used before our marriage, during our marriage, and I beleive that only the hand of God can make this marriage what it should be. I have tried everything humanly possible and continue to pray. Please pray for us, our marriage, and our family. May God continue to bless you.
