Pharaoh's Daughter

Moses' mother Jochebed, in order to save
his life, put him in a basket in the
Nile river in Egypt.  Pharaoh had
ordered all the Hebrew baby boys to be
killed.  The baby was found by the
daughter of Pharaoh as she was bathing
in the river.  She said, "This is one
of the Hebrews' children."  She had
a kind heart and showed compassion.
She wanted him to be her own son.
Miriam, his sister, went to get their
own mother to be a nurse for him.
The princess offered to pay her wages
for caring for him.  Moses was cared
for by his parents until he was old
enough to leave his mother.  Then he
went to live in the palace and became
the son of Pharaoh's daughter.  She
educated him in all the ways of
Egypt, but he never forgot the early
training he received from his
mother.
