About Us

Patsy Stevens is originally from West Texas and retired from teaching in 2002 after a 34 year career.
She is a graduate of the University of Houston and received LLD certification from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.

Most of her teaching career was spent teaching second graders, but she taught learning disabled children in a resource room for thirteen years.

She enjoys music, her grandchildren, and preparing lessons for students, teachers, and homeschool moms. She and Murray met in 1988 and married a year later.

Murray grew up in South Texas in the Cuero area. He graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&I University. He also pursued a masters degree in Physics at Texas A&M University.

He was a Deacon in the Garland Road Church of Christ for many years and taught a Sunday School class. He also taught a Bible class for high school credit.

He worked for Aztec Oil & Gas Company for 25 years until the company was purchased by Sun Oil Company.
He enjoys reading the Bible, sleeping, and visiting with his son and daughter.

He served in the army during WWII in Europe. (Read about his war experiences in Belgium.)

He has Alzheimer's disease stage 5, and is becoming more forgetful each day. He now lives in a residential nursing facility, Comfort Cottage in Garland, Texas where he is being cared for along with two other Alzheimer patients.
